Delivery Day

Delivery day is one of the most exciting milestones in the journey to your new home. It’s the moment your home arrives on-site from the factory and begins the final steps toward becoming move-in ready. Understanding what happens on delivery day – and how to prepare – helps ensure everything runs smoothly.

What Happens on Delivery Day

On delivery day, your home arrives fully completed from the factory, including interior finishes and built-in kitchen appliances. Depending on the size and layout of your home, it may arrive in one section or multiple sections.

The Home Gallery team is on-site to manage the delivery and oversee the installation process from start to finish. Specialized equipment – such as tractors and hydraulic jacking systems – may be used to carefully maneuver each section into position on the foundation.

Once the home sections are placed, the installation process begins. This includes:

  • aligning and “marrying” multiple sections together (if applicable)
  • securing the home to the permanent foundation
  • sealing connection points
  • completing final finish work related to the installation

Seeing the home come together on delivery day is often a memorable moment for homeowners, as the project quickly transitions from planning to reality.

How to Prepare for Delivery Day

A little preparation helps ensure delivery day runs efficiently and safely. Homeowners are typically asked to:

  • keep driveways, access roads, and gates clear for delivery vehicles
  • remove parked cars or obstacles from the delivery path
  • secure pets indoors and away from the work area
  • ensure any required site preparation or foundation work is complete
  • follow any safety guidance provided by the project team

Your project manager will communicate any specific site requirements ahead of time so you know exactly what to expect.

What Homeowners Should Expect

Delivery day is a coordinated operation involving multiple team members and specialized equipment. While homeowners are welcome to observe from a safe distance, the focus is on safety, precision, and efficiency.

Depending on the home and site conditions, delivery and initial installation may take several hours or extend across the day. Your team will keep you informed throughout the process and outline what comes next once the home is set.

What Happens After Delivery

After delivery day, the project moves into the final installation stages. This may include:

  • completing utility connections
  • final inspections
  • interior and exterior finishing touches
  • preparing the home for move-in readiness

Your project manager will guide you through the remaining steps and confirm timelines as the home nears completion.

A Major Milestone in the Process

Delivery day marks a significant step forward – bringing together months of planning, design, and construction. With the home positioned on its foundation and installation underway, the project moves confidently into its final stages.
