The Home Gallery was recently featured on KTLA as a new factory-built home was delivered to an Altadena family rebuilding after the Eaton Fire.
The St. Juste family lost their longtime home in January 2025 after more than 35 years in Altadena. Nineteen months later, their new home was delivered and installed, bringing them another step closer to returning to their property.
KTLA followed the installation and spoke with the family and The Home Gallery’s Corey McGuire about the rebuilding process and how factory-built construction is helping homeowners return home.
Altadena Family Takes a Major Step Toward Home After Eaton Fire
For the St. Juste family, the arrival of their new home marks a significant milestone after losing their property in the Eaton Fire in January 2025.
The family had lived in Altadena for more than 35 years before the fire forced them from their home. Nineteen months later, their new home arrived at their property on La Corona Avenue, where it was installed in a matter of hours.
Much of the home was built off-site at a factory before being transported in sections. Once delivered, the sections were placed onto a permanent foundation, with the remaining work now being completed on-site.
Speaking to KTLA during the installation, Carlo St. Juste reflected on the uncertainty the family faced following the fire and described the arrival of the home as another step in the right direction. At the time of the feature, the family was expected to be around 60 days away from moving back home.
A More Efficient Approach to Rebuilding
The KTLA feature also provides an insight into the factory-built construction process behind the St. Juste family’s new home.
Rather than completing the entire build on-site, much of the construction takes place in a controlled factory environment before the home is transported to the property for installation.
Homeowners can customize their home from the floor plan through to the individual finishes, while much of the construction is completed before the home reaches the site.
Speaking to KTLA, Corey McGuire of The Home Gallery compared the process to designing and building a car, with clients involved in decisions across the floor plan and finishes. He also explained that The Home Gallery can deliver homes at around half the cost of traditional construction while using the same materials.
The Home Gallery told KTLA that it is currently installing approximately four to five homes per week across the fire-affected region, as families continue to rebuild following the Southern California wildfires.
